I am currently researching web hosts for building my first website, so I am having to learn many things very quickly. I am most impressed with FQ, but I am planning to use MS FrontPage for designing and building my site. Everything I have read says I must have a host with FP Extensions but here I am told I can get around that.

Has anyone here been through this process and knows it can work smoothly? If so, if you have any pointers or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I am looking for reassurance that I will not be shooting myself in the foot with my FrontPage if I signup with FQ. And I really want to use them.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I've used FrontPage for almost all of my web publishing since I started with FQ in July of 1999... no problem here. FP extensions are not required on the host unless you want to use some of the special FP gizmos... I have always found some other script to do those functions without FP extensions (usually Perl). FP makes a fine site design program (with a few MS bugs thrown in of course :P ). Unless you're totally 100% dependent on the integration of FP tools into your site, you'll have no problems using FP on FQ. Even if you are dependent, consider replacing the FP items. You'll find the reliability and speed of FQ servers will make it well worth your while.

By the way... FQ has provided some excellent information on using FP here at http://www.aota.net/FTP/FrontPage2000.php4.
