Hi Folks,
Maybe not the correct place to post this but I just did the site owner registration thing and must await the confirmation. So I can't yet post this in the owners section.

But, maybe the answer will come from here if not I'll repost there after receiving the confirmation.

1 of my visitors (probably more since my stats show 3118 403's and my site has only been here a month or two) gets a 403 when trying to access my site.

Nobody else has complained, but maybe they just think it's gone. I have not noticed any significant traffic decrease since moving hosting providers.
The error seems to be from a server here based upon the Apache message and not the visitors proxy problem.

A screenshot from the customer is here:

Anybody have any ideas?
In case you're wondering, that page uses SSI but I don't think it makes a difference.
Regards,
Phil

Hi Phil,

The link to the screen capture of the 403 message was very helpful and we thank you for including it. As FutureQuest is running Apache 1.3.23 and that error message is showing from Apache 1.3.12, it cannot be from our server.

The sysAdmin did take a look into your stats and as to the 3118 403 errors, those are from abusive bots that are denied from the server.

I hope this helps to explain.

Best regards,
Melissa

PS: I've also sent along a response to your email to the Service Desk regarding this.

Hi,
Great! I just did a directory peak which is obviously forbidden at my old providers scam site and sure enough I saw:

Apache/1.3.12 Server at (domain deleted since they are thieves!!!!!).com Port 80

So, although I updated the info at netsol about 60 days ago this visitor has not updated their dns in a long time!!!! I guess if I give the visitor my new ip they should be able to see the site and hopefully get their sysadmin to update things over there.

Thanks for your help, I was getting nervous... ~#
