In the past, we were able to define the autoresponder address as anything@whatever.tld

The new CNC restricts the autoresponder to say anything@mydomain.com, but in case we have several IRM (like me having mydomain.com + 3 more domains), certain mailboxes or forward aliases require to reply according to the needed domain.

louverdoor.com (main domain)
puertasinfinity.com (IRM 1)
aleamet.com (IRM 2)
grupoinfinity.com (IRM 3)

miguelt's autoresponder has to say
FROM: miguelt@aleamet.com

and it is saying now

FROM: miguelt@louverdoor.com

At the moment I think I could solve it with a filter instead of the standard autoresponder, but I think I would need couple of hours to fix it, and I think the autoresponder mechanism would have become less flexible than before.

Any help?

Hi Javier,

Actually we had to do a little hunting for an Old CNC but we did find one, and the ability to specify the From: Domain name in an Autoresponder was not an option in the last CNC either:(

This was copied from the last version of the CNC:
" Who do you want the From: address to show? This can be any address associated with futurequest.net, and can take either of the following forms:

* Real Name <user@futurequest.net>
* user@futurequest.net"
Was the actual instructions from CNC version 2.1 and only allowed you to enter the username.

However I can see how this would be desirable and have added it to the list for possible future enhancements Capabilities of both the Autoresponder as well as the CNC. But as you note you would not be able to do this using the built in Autoresponder at the present time.

Can the autoresponder be simulated with a filter? One of my coworkers is leaving in a couple of weeks, and I'd like to set up an autoresponse on her account that reminds our clients to update their address books. (Meanwhile, the message will be forwarded to her replacement.)

It'll be less confusing if the message comes from the IRM instead of the parent domain, which no one has ever heard of. ;)

The autoresponder is much more than a simple filter -- it counts its responses, and makes very sure not to respond to automatically generated messages (like mailing list posts, bounces, or another autoresponder). You could set up a simple filter that sends a message back to the sender, but it is far too easy to cause a nasty reply loop doing that (and then we'd have to ToS ya :police: )
