Does Future Quest offer subdomain or wildcard subdomain capability?? I know when someone is new that Future Quest has its own capabilities, but what about off of my own domain...do I have the ability to use http://something.123marketing.com? I noticed it didn't work when I tried it. I do know some companies offer it at an additional cost. If this is the same with Future Quest, what is the additional cost?
P.S. Wasn't sure where to post this...hope this is okay. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
Tanks in advanced...

We do not do wildcarding but can get you setup with a sub-domain like something.123marketing.com
It's listed at http://www.FutureQuest.net/packages.shtml near the bottom in the "Value Added Services" as an Internal Sub-Domain. They're currently going for a $25 one-time setup fee.
Posts like this are probably best to go to 'sales@FutureQuest.net' but here is fine also... there's another thread about it at http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000019.html

As an aside:
We provide many different ways of doing redirections and 'FQuest Domain Stacks'...
ER: == external redirection
IR: == internal redirection
IRM:== internal redirection mapping
The IRM's are the most powerful of the bunch, as they require special mod_rewrite rules to be written for your domain...
As far as wildcarding the DNS, this is a security taboo that can open your DNS up to exploits and spoofing... We assign added 'Domain Stacks' on an as-needed basis, and only use the 'IN A' method, instead of the less secure (brain damaged) 'CNAME' DNS records...
Right now - the default host names being setup with all new accounts (as of 1/4/99) is:
www/ftp/mail/mlm
So for your IRM of 'something.123marketing.com', your new DNS record would be:
www/ftp/mail/mlm/something
With the mod_rewrite rule that anything 'something.123marketing.com' should have the document_root of '/big/dom/x123marketing/something'...
I am guessing that the above is all techno-babble, but I hope you see there is quite a bit of configuration that needs to happen to make all this appear like magic... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
