I have noticed a lot has been happening in the community here at Future Quest...
A lot of new faces are showing up in the forums and the possibilities of members partnering up services are becoming a reality. Myself and Hearts being one success story. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

I know that business can be extremely tough when first starting out and it is a tremendous roller coaster ride...the good times are an extreme high and the not-so-good times are extremely low. I've seen, in my short time here at Future Quest, these times come to play. I am amazed that you have found that cement foundation that shall always keep Future Quest forging ahead. Community spirit.

Every new business will have it's hard times, but, just like a family you will see that the community spirit will bring the members together to pitch in.

I've seen many new posts asking questions regarding downtime here at Future Quest. Yes, Future Quest has had its time. Unlike most other hosting companies, it posts all problems and tries its best to keep its community informed of all problems.

I also see that Future Quest doesn't push the "bad" times behind them, but instead uses them as learning tools. By analyzing what went wrong and how to prevent this from happening again. Future Quest is proving that it is a step above the rest.

Future Quest has grown fast and it is working to provide for all. I find the human-ness and honesty the reason for this growth spurt. The fact that I have heard and read posts that Andrew or Deb was up til 2 am helping a member with javascript or something that a host company hasn't an obligation to help with...amazes me. I don't always have time to head here to the forums to post a question. I like it that when an emergency comes up, I can email Deb/Andrew and they will be there for me.

I realize this is turning into a book. I guess what I wanted to say is...
The illnesses will pass, the internic frustrations will continue undoubtedly, and the server will have it's troubles occasionally....with all this you are proving to still be doing a wonderful job, because through all this - you're still here, not giving up and that is what separates you from the rest. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thank you!

This word is so over used that it has lost much of its true meaning... but for all that the word was supposed to mean and the true feelings that are supposed to be attached...

Thank You!

Your post is much appreciated http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

The conditions of conquest are always easy. We have but to toil awhile, endure awhile, believe always, and never turn back. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful words...

For myself, FutureQuest has become a success, not for what most people assume, but that it entices people to learn...

Like a school, the server is loaded with all the tools to complete your project... I have watched many, clueless about security/CGI/PHP3/MySQL, stop and ponder... I have seen people putting forth the effort to understand the capabilities that the server posesses, and taking their virtual presence to the next level... I have seen a community come forth and convey their knowledge to others... I have seen many translate my techno-babble, into something that others can understand... I have enjoyed watching many people publically state, "Wow, I didn't know you could do that. Cool!"... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

I will be the first to admit that a Linux/Unix server can and does, at times, have a steep learning curve... With capability, there is complexity... We have had some leave FQuest because it was too much - while others have stayed and seen it through, broadening their horizons by experimenting, tinkering and then implementing...

The desire to learn and to rise above the norm, is the technical foundation that I have built and based the FQuest engines on...

Right now my focus is enhancing and optimizing the server core... Every effort is going into identifying problems and solving them before the customer is even affected... Other times we are caught offguard - whether it be in or out of our control - (e.g. Phone Company and severed Fiber lines)...

After we are stabalized with our growth, my focus will then turn back to adding more CNC modules, to help ease some of the pain working with the Linux command line...

FutureQuest is not a server designed for the masses (e.g. FrontPage98 extensions), but rather designed for people whom are not afraid to learn and extend their realm of knowledge and capability...

I am proud of FutureQuest - it is my hobby, my job, and my life... It takes me to new levels each and everyday... It keeps my mind alive, it makes me happy when everything works right - and challenges me when things go wrong...

Welcome to FutureQuest... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
