I've got a POP3 account for which I need to make an autoresponder vacation message.[nbsp][nbsp]Any ideas how this can be done within the confines of FQ's AutoResponder Manager?

Alternatively, is there any way to create this the old fashioned way with a .vacation.msg via telnet or maybe even FTP it over?

You could just temporarily remove your existingname@yourdomain.com box and create a[nbsp][nbsp]newname@yourdomain.com box while you're on vacation.[nbsp][nbsp]Then create the autoresponder as existingname@yourdomain.com which forwards incoming messages to newname@yourdomain.com.

Actually what I did was create a pop box which is not the name I give to people to email. I give them an alias which I then use to forward email to the popbox. Thus as you say the alias could be changed to go to the autoresponder and you dont have to physically do anything to the popbox itself!

Why can't we simply check a box that makes the pop mailbox start to auto respond to folks as well as collect the mail?

Is there a simpler way?

Why can't we simply check a box that makes the pop mailbox start to auto respond to folks as well as collect the mail? Logistics and presentation are the problems...

POP/Alias management and AutoResponder management are two totally different things...

Though we may be able to streamline the logistics when POP Toasters come online - it still won't solve the presentation problem...

well, I created a mess.

I deleted 3 pop accounts, created a new one for while my boss was away. Created 3 autsponders and had them redirect mail to a new pop account. Boss came back, wanted her old accounts back, so I created old accounts, deleted new pop account telling it that i wanted it to move the email from that pop account to one of the now new pop accounts. It said it had 44 messages before the delete/move, but it only moved 20 or so. I haven't told my boss that I lost 20 some odd messages of hers.....

there has got to be a better way.

She needs to have distinct mailboxes cause she wears many hats....
