I have a client who wants to register a bunch of names with the .net and .org tlds. I thought those were reserved for nonprofit organizations and networks, like ISPs. Is this true? And, if so and knowing how my client thinks, are there any ramifications for using them otherwise?

.net and .org used to be restricted for service providers and non-profits but due to the difficulties involved with assuring the rules were upheld they dropped the rules.[nbsp][nbsp]Now .com, .net, and .org are available to anyone for any reason ;)

If the client wants --- Let the client have ;)

I am curious about .edu - I had always thought this was restricted to postsecondary institutions, but I recently ran across a private high school using it![nbsp][nbsp]Sooooo not interested in running any of my domains as .edu redirects, LOL . . . . but *could* FQ host those?

We do host a .edu domain name ;)[nbsp][nbsp]If you can register it, we should be able to host it.... registering .edu is a task though...

1. Your organization must be a 4-year degree-granting college or university.

2. Your organization may not have any other previously registered .edu domain names.

I'm not an expert in obtaining .edu domain names... the above is from Networksolutions web site....
I'm sure there are loop holes.. I just don't know them.
