SSH Clients...

I don't know if anyone else here uses a Macintosh, but if you do and want an SSH client for Mac, here's the one I use....

It's called NiftyTelnet SSH and it works just great. No fancy formatting, tho, so stuff like mc won't look right in it.

Caveat: Due to patent law pertaining to SSH, this program is not legal for use in the U.S. However, it's the only viable SSH client for the Macintosh. The US owners of the SSH patents have a Macintosh client but it is slow and unwieldy. So, I'm practicing a little civil disobedience here. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

I also use BetterTelnet, which doesn't support SSH but does support One-time passwords, which FQ doesn't use, but it's a great telnet client.. my favorite when not using SSH.

Thanks a bunch for the info! We are lacking in Mac software suggestions so any/all info is appreciated....

Just for the record -- Which SSH client is legal in the US?

If you're up to it.. care to share some ideas for low cost HTML editors also? Have a few people looking for Mac editors w/o paying the big bucks.. they need freeware or shareware.. suggestions?

Deb - I dont know of any free or shareware versions of any mac html progs, except I think there is a good demo version of Claris Homepage 3.0 http://www.filemaker.com.

On the lowcost end of html or wygiwys editors for Mac:

Adobe Pagemill3.0 is about $80US
Claris Homepage3.0 is 70 or 80 bucks as well.

The legal one is... DataFellow's F-Secure SSH client for the Macintosh:

It's a commercial product, unlike NiftyTelnet SSH. They may have a free license for personal use, but I'm not sure.
