I'm very new to the whole subject of domain name redirection and have a couple of questions.
I have a concern about the effects that search engines have on IRM domains. I found an interesting thread that directly addressed my concerns about using shared IP addresses and several FutureQuest members indicated that they have had no trouble ranking high while using shared IPs with subdomians. Does using DS-IRMs have the same the same affects on search engines as regular IRMs.
For example, the URL for my main domain is www.ebooks-central.com/ (http://www.ebooks-central.com/). I have also bought several other domain names to build other separate unrelated web sites for that I'm planning on moving over to my account as IRMs. I want plan to optimize my ebooks-central website and submit it to search engines in a few weeks when I'm through with phase 1. I also plan to build several completely separate IRM domain sites and submit them to search engines. The main page of one of the IRM domains will probably be:
www.ebooks-central.com/optimalsellprice/OSPindex.htm (http://www.ebooks-central.com/optimalsellprice/OSPindex.htm)
I am concerned about the IRM sites not being ranked high since they are being redirected or does it have the same effect on search engines as using subdomains?
Another question.
When I submit my IRM domains to search engines do I use the following URL for the IRM domain name in the example above:
www.optimalsellprice.com/OSPindex.htm (http://www.optimalsellprice.com/OSPindex.htm)
or is there another way that is better?
Is it better to leave off the "OSPindex.htm" part or does it matter?
I am especially interested in hearing from people who have IRM sites that are ranked high in search engines or who have had any unusual difficulty in getting good rankings with their IRM domains compared to their main domain.
