Site has no content?!?

OK...so it must be me.[nbsp][nbsp]I was just told that the following site has not content: http://www.stopsexoffenders.com , and that this is the reason it isn't being accepted into Yahoo.[nbsp][nbsp]Not only that, but they say that there is only one page of content "on site" and that it was copied from somewhere else.[nbsp][nbsp]They must not know how to view a website.

Please forgive me, but I am totally confused. I was under the impression that this site has much original content AND includes content that has been submitted to us (is this a BAD thing?[nbsp][nbsp]I know Yahoo accepts sites that displays content submitted from others).

I'm just trying to understand...would love other opinions.

Well I would recommend heading over to http://www.searchengineforums.com and posting in the Yahoo forum and ask why they think it did not get added.

They should be able to help you get it in from their with suggestions etc.

Now I'm curious how you even got a reply from Yahoo.[nbsp][nbsp]I've been trying to find out who to contact about web site submission guidelines for weeks, but no replies to my e-mails.

As difficult as it is to swallow, my feeling is that Yahoo submission is completely hit or miss (assuming you have an adequately prepared site in the first place).[nbsp][nbsp]The percentage of sites they accept is steadily declining, and the few new additions I have checked have shown no consistency whatsoever.[nbsp][nbsp]I just looked at a new one they added that was little more than an "under construction" page![nbsp][nbsp]You think someone knows one of the editors...?

I can only hope that the public begins to realize Yahoo's content is somewhat stale and forces them to make changes to address this problem, i.e. more staff and clearer guidelines.[nbsp][nbsp]However, I doubt that will happen, as I myself use Yahoo more than any other SE, problems aside, simply because it tends to bring back the most relevant results, has the easiest name to type in, is quite comprehensive...

Maybe I'm just bitter because I can't get a site listed with them that has no apparent problems.[nbsp][nbsp];)

Well, I just got my reply from the Yahoo moderator at searchengineforums....still don't agree...I don't understand how Yahoo can admit some sites and not admit others, with practically the same amount or even LESS original content...and there must be a large amount of information to boot.[nbsp][nbsp]This is a very big requirement, obviously, but I don't believe it to be fair.[nbsp][nbsp]I did think (and I've been told by many parents), that the SSO site was very good...and I believe it is....even if Yahoo doesn't.[nbsp][nbsp]

Guess I'm a Yahoo non-believer.

I'm not much of a Yahoo believer, either.[nbsp][nbsp]Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Unfortunately, the public still believes Yahoo is the best "directory" out there.[nbsp][nbsp]The only thing we can hope for is that in its complacency people will begin to see much better results elsewhere.
