Hi,

[nbsp]I maintain a website that dialy gets between 5,000 to 10,000 hits.[nbsp][nbsp]However, somehow I need to pay for that site.[nbsp][nbsp]I tried using those pay-per-click programs and got no where.
[nbsp][nbsp]Does anyone know of a place where I can let people know that my site exists and am willing to have them advertise on it?

Please email any responses to:[nbsp][nbsp]conjurben@email.com
Or, you can post them here!

Thanks!

That would certainly be a great project for an entrepeneuring individual with a marketing and internet background![nbsp][nbsp]I imagine there's a huge void there waiting to be filled, sort of like Monster.com is doing with job hunting.[nbsp][nbsp]It would probably be a pretty easy idea to sell for financing, if you're knowledgeable in that sort of thing.

It's funny how quickly you become considered an "expert" on the internet.[nbsp][nbsp]Just a couple of weeks ago, I was asking in the forums how to determine the value of a site for advertisers (and how to find pay-for-impressions advertisers), now I'm suddenly being asked those same questions by others.[nbsp][nbsp]"Blind luck" doesn't seem to be the most helpful answer...[nbsp][nbsp]:)

Hi,

[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks for the reply.[nbsp][nbsp]So.. what exactly would be your advice?[nbsp][nbsp]I really need some help here because the bills keep coming.

Thanks!

My advice?[nbsp][nbsp]Hmm, wait for someone to come along and answer that has some real advice to offer.[nbsp][nbsp];)

You could start by rotating a banner on your site that says, "Your ad here - call today!"[nbsp][nbsp]You have enough traffic that odds are decent someone will run across your site and be interested in advertising.[nbsp][nbsp]Of course, that puts you right back in the blind luck category.

What is your web site address? It would be helpful to be able to check it out to see what it's about, since then I could refer you to specific resources that are related to your site's subject matter.

There are several sites that let you list your advertising information. I will list one that I am aware of. I would also suggest that you visit http://www.adbility.com for more advertising information.

elite, thanks for pointing out those resources.[nbsp][nbsp]Where were you a couple of weeks ago?![nbsp][nbsp]:)

Two questions:

1) Any ideas how up-to-date Adbility is?[nbsp][nbsp]The articles are from 2-3 years ago, and I don't see any indication of date on the reviews.[nbsp][nbsp]A lot changes on the net in three years!

2) AdKnowledge requires a login to access the info, but I'm not getting any option to set up an account.[nbsp][nbsp]:(

The AdKnowledge System requires you to use one of the following browsers:

[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Mac OS: Netscape Navigator version 4.5 and above
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Windows 95/98: Netscape Navigator version 4.5 and above or
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (4.72) and above
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Windows NT Workstation: Netscape Navigator version 4.5 and above or
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (4.72) and above. I should qualify on the second one, but all I see in the left frame is a blank purple background with an <hr>...

Oh, wait a minute, clicking on &quot;Check out our list of SmartBanner-Ready sites! Daily updates.&quot; at the bottom seems to bypass login requirements.

Conjurben, could you point me to your site? Maybe I could take a look at it.

From someone who has heavily studied affiliate marketing and advertising in the past 2 months, can I ask what pay per click programs/networks did you use? There are so many dishonest ones out there and alot of them pay dirt and skim everything off of the top.

BTW, you can also reach me at tatu@bellsouth.net if neccessary.

Hi,

[nbsp]Thanks everyone for the help so far.
I would really rather not say my site URL at this time, but here is some info about it:[nbsp][nbsp]I provide free webspace and email.[nbsp][nbsp]Sirt if like GeoCities does.

[nbsp][nbsp]So.. any ideas on getting some advertisers?

Thanks!

Not sure on all the details, but doubeclick has just launched a service for web sites that are getting 100,000+ pages/month, and appears to be CPM not CPC.[nbsp][nbsp]It's url is http://www.sonarnetwork.com
