Oh how I love it when I can prove to someone who's been really extremely obnoxious to me and totally ignores when I try to explain ANYTHING to them that they are dead wrong.[nbsp][nbsp]That client I mentioned in the previous string?[nbsp][nbsp]His site is ranked #3 on Yahoo as of tonight.[nbsp][nbsp]#2 on HotBot. But aw gee I did a terrible job building his site and he wants his money back.[nbsp][nbsp]NOT! I'm going to keep checking the other search engines, but I've sent him an email (with search page files saved as html files attached) explaining that if he encloses his keywords in quotes and uses more than one set of them in a search query,since his keywords are all VERY general and anyone looking for him would surely know they would have to pinpoint what they're looking for a little better than JUST plugging in "ms project 98"....he'll SEE that his site is there...and yes this is a run on sentence and it's 3:23 int the morning and I DONT CARE!!!!!!

What I want to know is:[nbsp][nbsp]how long did it take Yahoo! to index your site?[nbsp][nbsp]I know some people get indexed in a week, some in a couple MONTHS, and some NEVER!!!

Oh, and CONGRATS![nbsp][nbsp]I know how hard that is to do, so rub it in his face! :)

Hi Drew,

First, I have to tell you I LOVE FQ's new intro page. It is awesome in my book! Great job![nbsp][nbsp]And thank you for the congrats to me.[nbsp][nbsp]It is hard to do and I am really proud of what I've accomplished.

Near as I can tell it took about 3 weeks.[nbsp][nbsp]The client started hollering about lousy results 4 DAYS after I did the original submissions.[nbsp][nbsp]3 weeks after I could find it by plugging in the full site name.[nbsp][nbsp]I kept telling him he couldn't find it by JUST using "ms project 98" as a search criteria and he wouldn't listen.[nbsp][nbsp]The strangest thing about it?[nbsp][nbsp]It's ranked on Yahoo based on the ORIGINAL site, no doorway pages, no fancy keyword weight manuevers, no fancy frills.[nbsp][nbsp]Just pure and simple, clean and logical design and structure.[nbsp][nbsp]

When he kept screaming, I bought Web Position Gold, and THAT'S when I started learning all about keyword weight and site promotion.[nbsp][nbsp]Until then I simply designed based on what I thought made sense from the user end...putting myself in the shoes of a potential customer. I took the entire site apart in the last 2 weeks and re-did it cuz he kept screaming it wasn't good enough.

Oh...and one other thing.[nbsp][nbsp]Because he's the spouse of the very good friend of mine...he got an 11 page site, original graphics, Internic registration, site submissions to all the major SE's, AND 6 mos. hosting on MY site space..all for $280.00.

I know, I'm nuts, but his wife is a very good friend of mine.[nbsp][nbsp]The house we live in is really beautiful, and we live here at far UNDER the going market value because she owns the house.[nbsp][nbsp]Long story, but she did it for us for a really good reason when we moved in 6 years ago.
