Hi,
2 months ago I had submitted my site (pugzone.com) to all the major search engine places like alta vista, excite etc, etc.
I used the meta tag builder utility from aota.net (I think that's where I found it), and got really good placement on all of these sites. Suddenly, my site is nowhere to be found anywhere except on alta vista, though I do confess I didn't go beyond the first 10 pages of results on any search results.
Someone suggested to me that the spiders go back and re-index your site every two weeks and perhaps I had a robots.txt file that prevented it. I checked, and all I have is a robots.txt that prevents indexing /stats. Others have told me that I simply got bumped into a lower position but I can't see that..I didn't see any new Pug sites in the results. I haven't changed anything in the meta tags so I'm at a loss as to why.
Can someone provide me with a little guidance on what could be happening here? And/or how I can improve my postion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Mel
