Ok - we're registering a new URL for Mass House Rabbit Society - hopefully ina few days the original suggestion was MAHRS.org (Massachusetts House Rabbit Society) but then someone also suggested something catchy lkike bostonbunny.org - So what we were wondering is would it matter - in terms of- how we get picked up by search engines which URL we go with? Like if someone put in the keyword "bunny" would a URL with teh word bunny in it be more likely to come up?
For istance Suz was telling me when she types in rabbit rescue at Netscape it assumes she's looking for rabbitrescue.org - and thats what it gives her
Any thoughts?

Yes the url does matter in the case of searches....
For someone the url mahrs.org to help you the person would need to be searching for mahrs.
But someone searching for rabbit may very well find rabbitrescue and someone searching for bunny will have a better chance of finding bostonbunny.org....
It's of course not the only thing that will help your search listings but it does help. The key is also making sure the url you pick is easily remembered by the visitor.

It is 100% better to use a url with your keywords in it verses an acronym of your company. Search engines such as Excite, look favorably on keywords in the url. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
