I was up half the night trying to figure this out.

I want to import a scanned logo into Xara 3D so that I can try out 3D effects but all I wind up with is a rectangle the size of the image file. Can someone provide step by step instructions. The "Help" files are too vague.

AFAIK, you can't do what you're trying to accomplish.... Xara is for creating 3D text and you must do this from scratch inside the prog. You can't import an existing image to make it 3D... although you can use any backgrounds and textures present on your system to create 3D text.

From the help file:As well as using regular text in Xara3D, you can also import 2D objects and extrude them. 2D objects must be in Windows metafile .EMF or WMF format.

Both of those are vector-based formats used for clipart...[nbsp][nbsp]They're not regular images.[nbsp][nbsp]:(

Any idea how I could scan a logo and convert it to a vector based drawing?

Later that same day:

Well, I dl'd a trial version of Flash which did the job but, believe me, the results were not pretty.

Which version of Xara 3D are you using? I can't find any mention of importing metafiles in my documentation(v2.0).
