TeRRa is at the NOC now working on the situation.[nbsp][nbsp]I do not have all of the details yet but yes RASMUS is having a problem.[nbsp][nbsp]I can assure you we are aware and doing what we can to bring him back as soon as possible.
When I know more I will let all of you know as well.
Deb

Mine's unavailable too...I think it's on Astro.

Deb, do you realize you answered this post within 5 minutes?[nbsp][nbsp]I'm amazed, yet extremely happy :).
When I know more I will let all of you know as well.
If there's one thing I've grown to love about youze guyz...
Many thanks :)

If there's one thing I've grown to love about youze guyz... I wish it were just the cute ASCII I can put out but technology is what it is...
ASTRO is a fluke freeze it seems.[nbsp][nbsp]It decided to act up as soon as it saw TeRRa giving RASMUS all the attention... ASTRO should be back up and serving web sites within the next 15 minutes.
RASMUS is a more serious issue that may mean replacing the entire server in an effort to bring him back online faster (as opposed to trying to figure out which piece broke).[nbsp][nbsp]I do not know for sure yet but unfortunately I do know that he'll be taking a little longer to bring back up...

Yes, Astro's asleep too.[nbsp][nbsp]I'm not worried though.[nbsp][nbsp]The FutureQuest team is on it![nbsp][nbsp]THANKS DEB ;)

Build'n things is fun, Break'n things is funner!
Decided to move the thread rather than repeat the effort... sorry if anyone got lost :P
Deb
[nbsp]- Where'd it go?
ASTRO is back up and should be functioning fine for all at this point.
Deb
[nbsp]- All eyes back on RASMUS only

At least it picked a very convenient time to go down.[nbsp][nbsp]As long as it's back up by noon or so tomorrow, all will be well.
<begin jest>
So I guess this means stats processing will be delayed?
</end jest>
;)
-jim
Wow Jim, you are a daring soul :P[nbsp][nbsp]STATS may be a little delayed but the delay shouldn't be anything too noticeable.
RASMUS is in code red and TeRRa is in the process of a total overhaul now.[nbsp][nbsp] We hope to have a new server up and online serving as RASMUS within the next couple of hours.
Deb
[nbsp]- Uptime Guarantee? Yes.

Any idea of what piece went bust yet? Or is this something that will only become apparent once RASMUS is pulled apart?
Meisha.
- Who happened to be playing with site at the time when it disappeared. I wonder if anti-anything electrical can pass through phone wires to fissile? Okay, now I'm feeling guilty.
Not yet... we'll know more in that area once he brings the injured home.[nbsp][nbsp]Right now he's putting up the new one.[nbsp][nbsp]This should be completed in about an hour ...
Deb
[nbsp]- Waiting is the hardest part
Ok all fixed up :)
The new build is online and RASMUS should now be serving your websites successfully.
We very much appreciate your consideration during this time and do apologize for the problems it may have caused.[nbsp][nbsp]Hardware is a funny thing (errr not a funny thing).
At any rate it does look like it was the motherboard that decided to go out on RASMUS ... thank goodness for backup hardware :D
Deb
[nbsp]- I should've taken the blue pill.

[nbsp]- Does a day off count as a vacation?
eunice
10-22-2000, 11:03 PM
No.[nbsp][nbsp]A day off does not count as a vacation.[nbsp][nbsp]A vacation is 6 days minimum, with no phones or computers.[nbsp][nbsp]Think you guys can arrange that?

6 days??? I thought that was retirement!

What fun is a vacation without at least one computer? Preferably two or more, as Death Matches are more fun with some competition... ;)
