FQuest Status...

The outage that just occured came in two parts.

1st part)

In prepration for the move on this end there were some 'glitches' (this term used to prevent a novel) that caused us to go out around 6:05 pm EST... we fixed that and had everything back up at 6:34pm EST ...

2nd part)

At 6:35 pm the NOC in Gainesville (where we are setting up new server) had some router problems that they were working on and fixed at 7:46 pm EST.

Between the two of us we were in the 'black hole' from 6:05pm through 7:46pm

Servers actual downtime 30 mins...
Time that will be credited 2 hours (e.g. 4 days of hosting in holding up the 99.9% deal)

ha! It must be some kind of computer bug going around! Our server techs at our local dial up .. well.. they broke our mail server.. been toying with it since 3am Tuesday and now it is totally out!

hum? Maybe just some kinda electronic bug all around? woke up this morning.. and even my coffee pot wouldn't brew.. *sniffle*

and.. seems I caught Del & Julie's phone probs.. cuz now I have all kinds of fascinating noises on my phone lines. I know where your cricket is.. ya'll want it back? Even picked up the phone once today..without even dialing.. I got a busy signal! Maybe my phone lines thought they were psycic and knew the number i was gonna dial woulda been busy?

well.. my lighter still works.. ain't run outta cigarettes.. and I have learned to successfully install two CGI scripts.. flawlessly I might add http://www.aota.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Well if I could blame this mysterious bug I would... I can back it up with a fridge that started to make a strange noise today, a coffee pot that told us we were working it to hard and as for that criket... we had a phone jack fall out of the wall yesterday for no apparent reason whatsoever:/ (at least that's what the three, running where they shouldn't have been running, children told us)

Good news! The cricket's gone! *grin* The GTE dude found it today, it was in one of the neighbor's backyards... weird. Anyway, he took it away in a little box and we're groovin right along here now, mostly. Earthlink still sucks, but we only have to put up with that for a couple more weeks til we move. Definately going to look into a cable modem then. Don't wanna give GTE money ever again!

well.. we have ALLTEL and i have them here atleast once a month.. been like that for a year now.. I even know most of them on a first name basis. They put some of us on some new transiter or switch.. and SAY it is supposed to be better. and it ain't

Beginning to think they just show up to open the little box, hook a meter to it, and say, "well... don't know why you are having probs, everything looks fine". Promising to check on one more thing, will call and see what they found.. and never hear from them again, until i call them back

today was an added bonus, he calls his supervisor.. "to see what more he can suggest".. and they talk about fishing! Maybe that is my prob.. my phone line is a fishing line!

BTW.. did I mentioin.. that GTE Corp is is ALLTEL? .. guess they give ya crickets for fishing bait.. huh?
