During the last week, we have been watching a tremendous increase in server load due to CGI execution...

Server 'SIX' will be built utilizing dual PII-450's and 512mb of pc_100 SDRAM... We should receive the new parts within the next 2 weeks...

This one will require more effort as I will have to compile the Linux Kernel to SMP (Symetrical Processing) architecture... We held off on adding a second CPU to TAZ, because of the Kernel SMP recompile - and decided to just build a new one and migrate...

All current customers requiring SSL, and all -new- customers will be setup on the new server 'SIX'... Also our larger customers will be moved to the new server to help spread out the CGI load...

'TAZ' will remain in Ocala for another 1 to 2 months, as I slowly migrate customers to the 'SIX' server which will be located in Gainsville NOC...

Then TAZ will be used as a leapfrog for when we move to the Orlando OC-12 NOC in 4 months...

Moving a server from one location to another, without disruption, is extremely difficult - and much thought and design is going into this to make it a reality... I plan on utilizing multiple servers, in a leapfrog fashion...

We will be notifying customers that are moving to the new 'six.futurequest.net' server, so that they are aware if any possible glitches/gremlins pop up out of nowhere...
