AOTA.net had been extremely graphic and java intensive... this caused problems for many of the users trying to receive help.

As such.... I've just completed redueing the entire site.

It is now mainly text and much easier to load and surf through.

AOTA is there as a resource for all of you. I hope you find the new design to prove more productive and faster for those times you need the info and not the 'hype'.

There is only one thing left for me to do as far as the site design goes (we'll always be adding info and resources). As you will notice I have a banner rotation script running on the top and bottom of every page.

As soon as I complete this post I plan on going over there and removing every banner that contains info about a site not hosted on the FutureQuest server and replacing the banners with banners from sites hosted on our server!

If you have a banner and would like it added to the rotations... please post here or email me and let me know. AOTA is full of resources and will continue to build with resources valuable not only to FQuest site owners but to the Internet population in general! This is your free chance to get your banner up on a site that we all KNOW will be seen.

I will *NOT* be downloading your banners... There is no reason for me to since aota is sharing the same server as your sites are it is kind of futile for me to worry about it. All I need is the URL of your image and the URL you would like it linked to when clicked on. This will allow you the ability to easily change the image whenever you would like to.

PLEASE BE SURE the image you decide to use is geared for netizens of ALL ages!!!!!!! Any questionable banners will be removed as soon as I am made aware of them!!!!

Let me know what you think of the new design... and let me know where your banners are http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif

The new look for AOTA is awesome! Very elegant and tasteful, professional looking, straightforward. I'll definately add a link to it as I redo my favourite links page (which is in progress -- should be up in a few days).

Take care!

Well you've been busy! I think it looks good. I like the pulldowns for everything, and it seems easier to read too. Thanks for adding our banner http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif

Looking forward to seeing what else you add to this site...

Hi Deb,

I like the new page a lot better than the former one. But I still think that the site hides some stuff a bit too well. Drop-Down menus are a nice idea, but I don't find it the ideal way to navigate a site.
I don't think that there are too many links to make a text-based layout with just hyperlinks to the appropriate sections.
Even a left-bar (like most sites have) could easily fit all these links.

This way it is much easier to spot the right page of interest and it is easier to spot a new addition (you can add a new-image to the link).

I find it a good idea to show fq customer banners, so I'd love to add my own banner(s).

Ok, everyone who has submitted a banner so far is up and running (even those of you who happened to mention it was more then fine for me to show off your sites previously ehhe)

The current script (if you can call it that) is just an SSI deal that pulls from the list randomly... there is no ryme nor reason to explain why it will pull this banner twice that banner once and that other banner 50 times before it shows this banner :P

I will be working on a full blown script for banner rotations later that will generate stats etc but for now this will do....

I've also added a 'table of contents' to the index page of aota as a temporary band-aide in re: to Meikels suggestion for a table of contents along the side of each page... along with a couple of help files for MS Front Page users...

At any rate.. Thanks for particapating!! Let's hope the other sites around here find out what their missing out on soon *g*
