HI!
I'm writing you this E-Mail to tell you about some important additions and upgrades to your SUSOGI.net Sub-domain account.
All of the Susogi.net accounts have been upgraded! There are NO extra fees for these upgrades and tools! A detailed list of each upgrade and new tool follows:
========================
More Disk Space!
========================
Instead of 5 megabytes of Web space you now have 10 megabytes of Web space to develop on! This upgrade is a gift from us to you.
========================
Command n' Control
========================
We are developing a new feature on the FutureQuest Server (this is the server Susogi.net runs on) We call it the Command n' Control Center -- CNC for short. We have many goals for the CNC, to be announced as they are put into place.
For starters -- You will find the main entrance to the CNC at
http://www.aota.net Every account on the FutureQuest Server may use the AOTA web site as their main source for information and development tools for their web sites. This includes YOU! Please stop by http://www.aota.net/ and view what is currently available. At the same time - Please understand that this site is under major construction.. forgive ahead of time for missing links etc... as developers yourself I'm sure you understand http://www.susogi.net/forums/wink.gif
========================
SUSOGI Specific CNC
http://www.susogi.net/CNC/
========================
You will need to use your current UserName and Password to enter the Susogi.net CNC Center. Upon entering you will find where we are building the Susogi.net Personal CNC ! Within this area we have added some new tools for you to utilize...
These include:
======
Change Password
======
Now you can change your password as often or as little as you'd like! When using this please remember that it is you who is responsible for remembering your password. If for some reason you forget your password the best we can do is change it for you, and for security reasons we would need to go through some 'tedious' stuff to assure it is YOU (the true owner of the account) before we could do that much. Always keep your passwords in a safe place. This feature has been added to help improve your security with your web site. If for any reason you feel your password has been compromised you can now easily sign into the Susogi.net CNC and change it to a new one.
======
Check Disk Space
======
This has been a large request from the Susogi.net members and now it's available! Once in the Susogi.net CNC you can click the Check Disk Usage icon for a detailed viewing of the amount of space you have left, the amount you have used, and how much is being used per directory.
======
AUTOMAGIC TOOLS!
======
In addition to providing pre-installed scripts on the server for you to use (guest books, form replies etc) we have now made them even easier for you to put them on your web site! For example -- If you've been wanting that special counter image on your page..but not wanting to read the entire tutorial to figure out how to do it... This is your answer http://www.susogi.net/forums/smile.gif Via the CNC you can click on your choices and the code for the counter you really want will be automatically generated for you. Then you need only copy and paste it to your page! The same is for Form Replies, Clocks, Dates, Redirection Menus and even META Tags!
=====
Ping & Trace Route
======
Now available on-line to help you in checking the condition of the server and how well the lines are doing that get you there. By clicking on the 'Ping & Trace Route' icon you will be brought to a tutorial that explains it and links to do it automatically via your web browser!
========================
New Guest Book Feature!
========================
With the new feature you can now define a graphical image to divide the entries in your guest book rather then using the default <HR> horizontal rule that is currently being used. To add this feature to your current guest book do the following:
Place this line exactly as it appears here in your guestbook.setup.cgi file
$Entry_Divider = 'default';
--OR--
$Entry_Divider = '<HR>';
>>cctech: Please note the use of single quotes, _not_ double quotes...
A good place to put it would be directly under the line that says
$SNet_image_thank_you =
If you leave "default"; as it is your quest book will not change.. to use an image rather then the horizontal line replace the word DEFAULT with the IMG tag accordingly -- like this:
$Entry_Divider = "http://www.susogi.net/UserName/filename.gif/";
Replacing the url with the correct one to your image. YES you may add ALT tags etc to your IMG Tag. For more information about the IMG Tag visit http://www.aota.net/Tutorials/HTML/ImageTag.shtml
If for some reason you have a problem with your guest book revisions and want to download new files and simply start over visit http://www.aota.net/Tools/ where you can do so with ease http://www.susogi.net/forums/smile.gif
For an example of how the upgrade works view
http://www.susogi.net/Jimrhino/GuestBook/guestbook.html Jimrhino has already placed the new line of code into his Guest Book allowing his entries to be separated by the blue line graphic. You may want to sign his guest book while you are there and thank him for allowing us to use his site as the example http://www.susogi.net/forums/wink.gif
========================
New Look!
We found our Bright Spot!
========================
With another huge thank you going out to Jimrhino
( http://www.susogi.net/Jimrhino/ ) we now have that 'Bright Spot' we've been looking for! Jimrhino utilized 'his mind's eye' to develop the brightest spot on the net! You will begin seeing the new 'Bright Spot' image all over Susogi.net and hopefully elsewhere on the World Wide Web too!
Plan on a major design change on the Susogi.net Web site... along with some new images you will be able to use to link back to our Community if you so choose.
Links back to Susogi.net are always appreciated as they are what will help us continue to offer new features, keep the prices as low as they are now, and grow as a community that is able to express themselves without the requirements of expressing those of others!
========================
Special Notice
For Those Who Have
Paid For Their Accounts
========================
If/When you are ready for me to start submitting your site to over 600 search engines...Please toss me an email so we may begin... you may want to visit the Meta Tag Builderin the CNC and have those placed in your pages for best results within the search engines.
Your support has been very appreciated!!!! I only hope to be able to provide enough within the Susogi.net community to make it all worth it to you!
My hope is that as Susogi.net grows and becomes a larger part of the World Wide Web you will be able to feel pride when you say "I was one of the first ten sites to ever sign on to that server!!"
========================
Special Notice
For Those Who Have NOT
Paid For Their Accounts
========================
Unless we have already spoken with you about the payment due on your account I feel the need to remind you that due to Susogi.net NOT placing banner advertisements on the site we do not receive funds to pay for these sites to be on-line. Web hosting is not free by any means... There is a great amount of work, time, and effort put into keeping the sites on-line and functioning properly. We also must put an enormous amount of funds into the Multiple T1 lines that allow your web sites to load quickly and efficienply. Bandwidth just isn't cheap. Someone must pay for these things. We have done, and will continue to do, our best to keep the costs of the service we offer as low as possible. We do ask that you please take the time to send in the amount due of $25 per year for your web site. We WANT your sites on-line! We do NOT want to cancel any accounts. Please help us by holding up your end of the deal. If you have any questions or concerns in this area... feel free to e-mail me. Thanks!
==============
