We don't use ACAP... This is primarily for Local Corporate and University LAN's, where the system administrator pre-configures all your settings...
Over the Internet - this is not easy to do - nor can I assume exactly what settings you want/need...

Sounds like you are trying to use IMAP protocol to access your mail...
FutureQuest uses the POP3 mail protocol, instead of the mentioned above...
Which version of Eudora are you trying to use?
It will also depend if this is going to be your primary 'Dominant' EMail personality, or you are wanting to use multiple personality...
If Primary and Eudora Pro 4.x
1) Tools|Options
2) Getting Started - fill out this information... Remember to use your VMIP (xblaircedar-????) prefix for 'Login Name'... e.g. xfquest-cctech
3) Checking Mail - set per your preferences
4) Incoming Mail - set for 'Server configuration = POP' and 'Authentication style = Passwords'
I hope this will help clear up the confusion... There are *so many* different programs out there - that it's difficult for us to know all of them... That is why there are specific protocols used that Client programs and Server programs can talk to one another... In this case, it's the POP protocol...
I have manually telnetted to double-check that all is functioning properly at this end... If you switch to POP and use the VMIP for Login Name - then it should automagically begin to work... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Kabie!
I'm curious to know if you got Eudora to work for you. I've had exactly the same problems. I've used Eudora successfully in the past so I was suprised to have so much difficulty with it. I went back to it because I needed something that could work with PGP email.
In Eudora Lite I was unable to switch between IMAP and POP3, the feature just isn't there. It already defaults to POP3. I'm stumped! Has anyone else had the same frustrating experience?
I do like Eudora! If you solve this mystery please post a message, I would be interested in knowing what it was I kept missing! You know - the can't see the forest for the trees thing I guess <grin>.
Out of frustration I have installed a freeware program called Pegasus and got it to work right away. If your interested it can be found here:

BTW - Hello everybody! I'm new to Futurequest and very happy to have my sites hosted here. These folks are dedicated and it shows.

Hearts,
Hi there!
No, not a secret exactly. I recently setup 3 sites with FutureQuest. I had a horrible experience with lack of security and tech support at another host.
My first site is for my sideline income, it still has a long way to go. We have many, many products that need to be added. This is my very first web creation! This time last year I had never heard of HTML (yeah I know - sad) and I just started learning about CGI about 5 months ago. Feel free to take a look here:
http://NaturalJewelry.com
The other two are brand spankin' new - one is almost ready for its public premiere and the other is barely begun.
I have been working hard on the one that I'm getting paid to design. I will be happy to post an announcement when it's ready if you are interested in taking a look!
So you see - no secrets. I'm just shy about listing a site that I know I need to do more work on.
Thank you for your interest Hearts.

hi! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
Honestly.. I do not think it is sad about not knowing html a year ago! *neither did i* and I have not even ventured into CGI. So .. I am impressed by you! http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif I have only had my computer for just over a year.. I am in the stage now that there is so much that I want to learn that I do not know where to begin.. when I am trying to learn something new.. my mind is wondering about the other ideas and curiosities.. *hahaha* I am trying to settle down a bit and keep my focus.. so my next venture is java scripting. I have just ventured into reading about it. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
Gonna go check out your site you have listed now.. and good luck!

Hi Hearts!
Thanks for the kudos! I don't write CGI script by the way - though I do tweak/adjust and try to bend them to my will. Sometimes with success http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
I haven't ventured into java scripting. I have a particular friend though who is rapidly becoming a Java Guru. If you ever get stumped with something perhaps I could help by passing the question on to him. He is always willing to learn/help/share.
I had a chance to take a look at your site and you wowed me http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
You must have had some background in graphics/typesetting/advertising/art prior to learning HTML. Your work looks good! I would never have expected it from someone as new to this as I am. And I don't give compliments freely - I do have background in the above mentioned areas http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
Good luck with Java - keep me posted I would like to see what you do.
