[nbsp] OK, here is another quickie that I couldn't find anywhere
[nbsp][nbsp]on AOTA, FQ, or by searching the forums.

[nbsp][nbsp]I want to give someone an FTP account (a VAS) to my site
[nbsp][nbsp]so that they could only update a section of my site to one
[nbsp][nbsp]subdirectory in my www directory, but I want to re-
[nbsp][nbsp]strict access to any other directory. Is this possible? :D

[nbsp][nbsp]That and I was wondering if I get a sub-domain for that
[nbsp][nbsp]directory and a domain... so he/she could have his/her own
[nbsp][nbsp]domain name but then have whatever.bid4beanies.com show up
[nbsp][nbsp]on the user's task bar. Is this possible? :D

[nbsp][nbsp]And yes, I am are that I am not a registered reseller with
[nbsp][nbsp]you guys. ;) And no, I am not selling, just having
[nbsp][nbsp]a 'partial merge' with a website. :þ
[nbsp][nbsp]lol (I think I need sleep)

[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks,

I want to re-strict access to any other directory. Is this possible? Yes, very.[nbsp][nbsp]When you order the FTP account you need only specify the directory you want the account to have access to. From this point they will be able to do whatever they need to from within that directory and its subdirectories but they can not go up out of that directory.

I was wondering if I get a sub-domain for that directory and a domain... I'm not sure if you are wanting both at the same time or two separate ones?

Yes, you can have sub.yourdomain.com or you could have anotherDomain.com with yourdomain/anotherdomain/ as its root directory.

[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]Thanks on question #1! ;)

[nbsp][nbsp] On question #2 I was wondering about using them at the
[nbsp][nbsp] same time.
[nbsp][nbsp] So that when someone types "myotherdomain.com" it goes to
[nbsp][nbsp] whatever.myfirstdomain.com and the sub domain sows up in
[nbsp][nbsp] the task bar. (In other words, giving the partial merger
[nbsp][nbsp] a domain but still having the effects of being a sub at
[nbsp][nbsp] Bid4Beanies to the nice people at home visiting) Get what
[nbsp][nbsp] I am saying? I know this is a really weird request, and
[nbsp][nbsp] you're probably wondering why I would need this but it is
[nbsp][nbsp] quite a long explanation and I don't wanna type any more.

[nbsp][nbsp] Thanks again, Deb! :) :) :)

Yes, that can be done .. would take a bit more work but certainly possible :)[nbsp][nbsp]You would have to make your request clear in the order to keep Terra on his toes ofcourse :)

It would be two things....

Setting up the Sub-Domain - sub.yourdomain.com

Setting up the Redirection - someone.com ==>> sub.yourdomain.com

[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] K' Thanks, Deb! Although I am not sure as to how soon
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]this partial merge will be, or even happen... just get-
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]ting some info for future reference and discussion.
