I'm not even sure how to ask this question. My forum seems to have sent e-mails and they are being seen as spam. Not sure where to turn. The e-mail service from my forum has never been active. I do however see where someone (guest) got my IPB software to send out 3900 plus PM's to where I don't know.
Any help or suggestions? Totally confused.

Sorry folks! For asking help in two places but I was desperate.
Thanks!
I don't see the other place you asked (I'd suggest at the IPB forums too)
I would have guessed the problem would be a spammer that registered as a member of your forum and sent PMs to everyone that then sent emails to them announcing the PMs, but that does not seem to be the scenario here? (if it were I'd suggest finding a way to lock down max pm sends or preventing pm access until x-forum posts which I had to do because of this problem.)
If an unregistered guest managed to generate emails from your forum that sounds like a breach that needs to be patched. Is your IPB fully up to date?

Thanks Jeff! No one ever had e-mail permissions. I have however checked the PM's and they seem to not have a limit. I'm worried because it was not a regular member who did this. It was a Guest who reported a bad picture. The picture that I saw was a shiny round object done with Photoshop.
:dunno:
I have the forum offline now and none of the stats show anything new since. I'm thinking now that I'm just feeling the results of this problem.
I did send a request to FQ through the support line.
Help is coming now. I just don't want anyone to see this as a direct violation. I just don't know what else to do at this point.

:yeah: Fixed! I'm pretty sure.
Anyone wants to know. The "report to Moderator" radio button was used and the comment inserted was a link to another website. This caused the forum software to notify members and staff that they had received a PM. The notice was sent out via the e-mail.
I removed the "report to moderator" radio button.
