Or is something else causing this? My site was moved to server Bender a few months ago but I just recently began major thumbnail updates. Now I cannot upload a large directory of images without several interminable hangs, which means I must begin again from the beginning several times not knowing which files have already been transferred. The result is that I use at least twice the bandwidth necessary for the job and must redo several times which is annoying. It's FQ's bandwidth and my time going down the drain here...

I have been doing this for years now on several other servers and while there was an occasional rare hang before it wasn't like this at all.

Hello Andi,

The FTP logs show what appears to be timeouts as a result of the FTP server waiting for data from your FTP client however in testing (three of us) on different servers, including BENDER, we have been unable to duplicate.

Could you send an email to the Service Desk with specific details as to what FTP client you are using as well as your OS and versions for both.

Also as many FTP settings as possible such as whether you are using Passive mode or not and if a Firewall is involved what Firewall and is your FTP client configured for Using Firewall settings.

Thanks,
Bob

Could you send an email to the Service Desk with specific details...OK, I will do that within the hour. But none of those details has changed since the last time I performed these upload operations, I believe in February and March. Oh wait, there is McAfee which is not well liked but I haven't had any trouble with it until now.
