SSI and meta-tags

Ok Im lookgnf or teh lazy person's way of doing all them meta tags -
like can I call them via SSI into all my pages - or does that effect the way search engines will index my site? Like will they still be able to detect keywords and such or is it more efrfective if they are just right there in the document. I knwo it dont make a load of differnce for people viewing the page - it's all parse and such by the time it reaches them but waht about spider bots and such that index ya to seach engines?

The server does not release the pages until it is done parsing them all together... this means that it works the same for spiders as it would for the end user... e.g. yes you can use the SSI for your meta tags if you like.

Word of caution -- By doing this you would have the SAME meta tags on ALL of your pages... It's wise to at least put in a different Title, Description, and even Keywords, on each page to allow you more visibility. Using SSIs for Metatags won't affect the search engine spidars at all. You may want to consider using two or three different SSIs though.

For optimal search engine visibility, a site should vary the tags from page to page. If you use SSIs, using 2 or 3 different ones will help out a lot. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

hmm yeh I thought of that other thing -I was going toleave the title - then I was mussing over keywords - I suppose it'd work best if ya had a bunch of pages that was like pretty much the same topic like our whole survey directory - that would work really well (which was why I was thinking of that)
It might work beter on a site with one topic - ie RabbitRescue.org than on our personal site - which is just like well potluck basically (I'm sure my html editors for RR will just be thrilled - yay more SSI to screw up! I dont mind teaching peole but it sure would help if they follow the instructions!)
