Anyone here still using EFM for spam..? I've been using it for several years and notice there's no discussion about EFM now, so I was just wondering if it's still in use. The last version is quite old now, 2005, IIRC.
I haven't visited this forum in over two years.

I, too, have been using EFM for years and it's a real lifesaver!
The current version is 1.15beta.

Yeah, I know. Obviously, no further work has been done on it for several years.

That is correct. No work on it has been done in years. The code is public, though. Anyone who wishes to is welcome to continue development on it and contribute the code changes.

The "configurability" (?) of EFM makes it a great weapon in snagging spam. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without it. SA is good but it's sorely lacking in many respects. The ability to blackhole emails based on words in the subject and body, sender, etc. is one reason I stay at FQ. Without it I think the spam problem would be much worse for me, as EFM snags maybe 300 a day.

My favorite EFM customization is the "Custom Banned" filter. I've got one based on the Received: lines. It contains a long list of top-level domains such as [80. and some others.
