I recently moved back here and just moved my PHPBB3 over but forgot to change the SMTP email password so we haven't been receiving emails. I have just added my proper password so all should be well now.

Is there a log we have access to that would show failed email attempts?

Thanks.

What type of failed email attempts? Attempts by your script to send outbound emails that were refused? Your script would need to log that. Otherwise, the only other logs are the ones available to the FutureQuest Team only for searching.

Yes, I would assume we would have a log in logs_email or something but I guess not. If you send me the root passwords for all servers I'll look for myself

The logs_email folder contains a filter.log file that records the results from any custom filters you may be running on your domain.

We certainly want to provide the email logs, and that is a feature on our wishlist and we hope to be able to provide it at some point.

If you need us to do some searches, we need at a minimum the following data for each email we are supposed to investigate:

Email address sent from:

Email address sent To:

Time, date and timezone when sent:

Any additional information such as how or from where the message was sent, any logs or error messages, etc. that may help in researching the logs...

Hi Sheila,

Thanks for the offer but I won't put you to trouble for looking for failed emails I know have failed because I am too stupid to update the password. I just thought it would be useful to check a log for future reference, to ensure emails are being sent from my PHPBB3.

I'll create my own log from within PHPBB3 if I continue to experience problems but hopefully it will be fixed now.

Thank you for your offer of help, I knew there was a reason I came crawling back with a big serving of humble pie :)
