To my great surprise, my own email address was recently used to send itself a spam ad. Since then, my email account has behaved strangely, and the email client on my computer has placed all incoming mail to that account into the junk mail folder. I am looking for guidance on how to address this problem without having to give myself a whole new email address, since it is printed on my business cards. Any advice is welcome. The email account I am speaking of is from our own domain and hosted by FugureQuest. Thanks in advance.

There is no way, really, to prevent email spoofing. We have a Knowledgebase article that goes into more detail on that topic:
Why does this spam look like I sent it? (http://service.futurequest.net/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=112&nav=+%26gt%3B+%3Ca+href%3D%27index.php%3F_a%3Dknowledgebase%26_j% 3Dsubcat%26_i%3D8%27%3EEmail%3C%2Fa%3E+%26gt%3B+%3Ca+href%3D%27in dex.php%3F_a%3Dknowledgebase%26_j%3Dsubcat%26_i%3D33%27%3ESpam%2F Email+Filters%3C%2Fa%3E)
In regards to the email being filtered by your email client into the junk folder, that is a separate issue.
What email client are you using?
One wonders what you originally marked as spam in order to make it now recognize all incoming emails as spam? Are you able to mark them as "not spam" if they are incorrectly filed as junk? (I'm assuming your mail client is "learning" as it receives new emails...?)
