G'day,
Is there a way I can find out where my hits are coming from i.e. previous website?
The website I administer had a surge of hits and the owners want to know more about the people visiting.
Also, I recently changed all content so that properties are viewed on the home page and are immediately accessible, could this really increase hits that much instead of visitors clicking a "listings" link?
I'm sort of fuzzled.
Any help is thanked in advance.

site is: www.primehomesrealestate.com

You can check your referrers -- these are the pages/site previously visited before your site was hit. Referrers is one of the reports provided by FQ's http-analyze software. As for the cause of increase in hits, there could be many factors and speculation would be difficult without lots of specifics (e.g., did you just get indexed by a search engine, does the new site redesign include local URLs in dynamically processed pages, etc.)

The software runs automatically. Under CNC, click on the stats links.

You might also consider using Google Analytics as statistics software. The program is free and delivers lots of very detailed stats for every purpose. You can even get a detailed analysis of your visitors’ location by geographic region (even city) in pleasing map-views. A detailed description can be found at the Google Analytics home page (http://www.google.com/analytics/) and the links therein.
