do I put in: ftp://ftp.speaknetski.com/www or ftp://ftp.speaknetski.com/ and then the path that I was given /big/etc/etc/www/ sory for this but I could not load the page so Im scratching my head..???
It depends on what you are using to FTP to your account.
If a standard FTP client then ftp.speaknetski.com
and once logged in then navigate to the /www directory.
If you are using NVU then under the Settings Tab:
Publishing address: ftp://ftp.speaknetski.com/
Under the Publish Tab:
Site subdirectory for this page: Enter "www/" without the quotations.
If another application then you would need to let us know what you are using.

Thank you, yes I am using NvU and it did say that might happen. Thank's I will try again. Can you recommend something other than NvU as I have made some errors but it keeps the old settings (the old files), I tried to uninstall it so I could start a new, but when I reinstalled it all the old files were still there ie, test1, test2, the instructions are useless for errors, yes it does give some help, but then it does not tell you how to "publish" once you have made the correction, so it just sits there, and the "publish" under the file / publish can not be selected. Any way I will try to carrier on a bit more, thank you 4 your help.

I'm seeing KompoZer (http://kompozer.net/) recommended as "Nvu's unofficial bug-fix release" while "while the original author of Nvu recodes Nvu in XUL or something" (credit (http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=237377&cid=19394635)). That's an ongoing thing with Mozilla projects, to rebuild the internals. Or, more neutrally from Wikipedia: Daniel Glazman announced on September 15, 2006 that he has stopped official development on Nvu and he is developing a successor to it, tentatively called Composer (or Mozilla Composer 2.0), as a Mozilla.org project. It is written from scratch and based on Mozilla trunk Gecko 1.9 and XULRunner. PHP and CSS will be supported. A community-driven fork, KompoZer[1], maintains Nvu codebase and fixes bugs until a successor to Nvu is released.
