Hi there,
I'm hoping that someone here has tried out the EMS application "SQL Query 2005 for mysql" (http://www.sqlmanager.net/en/products/mysql/manager). I'm trying to try it but it doesn't seem that FQ will allow it access my online databases. I entered the db host name, username and password (currently being used in an a working php script) but it gave the error: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MySQL.horizon-research.com' (10060) EMS doesn't offer much of any tech support so I don't know what error 10060 means. It also has an SSH tunneling option. I wouldn't blame FQ for not letting it in, actually I'd be surprised if they did. However, I wanted to ask anyway to justify setting up a test mysql installation just to try this software out.
Thanks for any advice,
Elizabeth Hammond

Hello Elizabeth,

That appears to require either a Local MySQL server or remote access to a hosted MySQL Server.
Possibility to connect to some local or remote MySQL® server

By default MySQL at FutureQuest can only be accessed from your hosted account and cannot be accessed from your local machine at home or work.

You would need to have a dedicated IP, from your ISP, and then Order an external MySQL connection in order to use any local MySQL management application.

Thanks so much Bob. That really makes it clear. I'll probably just set something up here.
