Hey there. I have a person who is going on leave, and wants an autosponder put on their email address and also wants that same email address forwarded to a new email address while away. Can this be done? How?
I assume the account is on a FQ. Yes, just go to 'Email Management' in CNC.

yes, it is on a FQ!
I don't see how to do both. I can set it up with an autosponder if it is a pop account, but I want it to be forwarded for the next three months to another address. If I make it an alias, I can forward it, but I don't think I can put an autosponder on it as well. %)
Hello Evie,
You are correct that simply using your CNC you would not be able to forward the email for a POP account. However there have been filters discussed to accomplish this within the Forums, IIRC.
But the easiest way would be to delete the POP account, setup that user as an Alias and you can assign an Autoresponder for an Alias. You would also be able to create another POP account and forward a copy of the email to both the POP account and the remote email address if you wished to archive the mail.
Hope this helps,
Bob

Here is a thought (albeit an ugly one).
We'll assume the account you want to fiddle with is bigshot@evie.com.
Set up a new pop mail box called bigshottemp@evie.com.
Delete the bigshot@evie.com pop box, forwarding the contents to bigshottemp@evie.com.
Set up an autoresponder on bigshottemp@evie.com. Set the 'from' address to bigshot@evie.com.
Set up a forwarding stack called bigshot@evie.com that forwards mail to bigshottemp@evie.com and the traveler's temporary mail address.
Done!
When the traveler gets back delete the stack, recreate the original pop box, delete the temporary box forwarding the messages to the original pop box, and declare success.
Invoice appropriately, because this is a real pain. <g>
There should be an elegant way to do this with a filter and a tee, but my brain isn't working along those lines just now. Maybe it'll come to me while I'm driving home this afternoon.

I have an autosponder request: I always want to seperate my autreponder message from the other stuff that the autosponder sends you. I try putting in a few spaces, but the system always deletes them. I would really like to be able to turn that stuff off, but in the meantime, would be great if we could add line breaks.
What I did do is this:
.
.
.
.
at the end of an email. Not so pretty, but it does seperate the auto response from the other text the email sends.
