I'm Priscylla etal here w/my lil budd BJ. We need help getting the links on this darn web page to work. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on with almost zilch understanding of what in heck all this computerese means. Oooooh it hurts to admit that...

I mean, with our collective brilliant minds you'd think somone in here could figure this stuff out but all i get is "uhhhh duhhhh i dunno whatchew think?" "hey man, this ain't my bag" and a whole chorus of "not me's" as they scoot towards the door. It's just me and BJ against modern technology here and I have the feeling that if someone could explain this to him then I'm off the hook too! :-) He's only 4 but he's our tekkie--I teach him the basics and he goes off and figures out the details on his own.

I just can't seem to understand any of this though. Soooo I've swallowed my frigging pride and come on bended knee to beg assistance from the higher powers of modern technology :-)

Hiya pris,

Ok, let's talk http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif

Firstly the links you do have on your home page are formatted correctly the problem is that you are calling for pages that technically do not exist...

You have a link like a href="webdoc1" but when you look at what you have uploaded to the server you will see there is no file titled 'webdoc1' there.. so the result is "not found"
Now what you do have is 'webdoc2.htm' so if you changed the link to read a href="webdoc2.htm" then it would work perfectly http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif Anotherwords just pay very close attention to the file names... and remember they are CaSe sensitive also http://www.aota.net/ubb//smile.gif

Once you get that part down you will be able to link the other areas you do not have linked yet easily....

When linking to an area not in the same directory as your page is in remember to hard code the link (e.g. put in the full path) You have an image for DividedHearts on your page... if you want that image to be a link to the DividedHearts Web Site then you would put in a href="http://www.dhearts.org" and of course close the link after the img src= tag with /a

This help a lil bit?
