Yuck Virus alert!

If you get a n email that says open the eclosed "I love you" kletter do not open it! it is a virus it will email everyone in your address book!!! this is runing rampant at my work this mornnig and has shut down our email server! delete it if you ghet it!

That virus has apparently affected 10% of the businesses in the UK as well.

Just be glad it's not a destructive-type virus.

Yes, I have received around 26 of these and keep getting them by the minute. But it is all from one company, and I figured it was a virus when I got a dozen of them this morning lol.. I am just glad I never open that stuff...

Funny thing is it seems to send them twice from each person.. Hope Norton gets an update soon..

UGGGGGH! I got hit by both.

Running a gaming site means that a lot of my visitors turn to me when they need info on games or to submit stuff in. So checking me inbox showed that I had received some 30 + copies of the ILOVEYOU email.

I figured it was a virus, it had all the characteristics. But I was curious as to why so many people suddenly loved me. hehe. So I clicked, and immediately, I realised what I had done. Turning on the radio, I hear all about it. I visited CNN and MSNBC and found the hard solution of removing it.

Unfortuently, the virus also removes all .jpg and .mp3 files on your hardrive and replaces with a 11K copy of itself. This killed me because I had to delete hundreds of images that were in my UNBACKED UP site directory and am downloading right now from FQ. On top of that, I thought I had lost my MP3 collection which is nearly a GB in size, until I saw that it made the Mp3 files most of the time hidden, and made another file visible making it SEEM if though it had been replaced.

Then of course, I start receiving the morphed "JOKE" emails. Fortunately, I've learned my lession. Now if you don't mind, I have to go and download my site off of FQ servers.. hehe...
