Host telemarketing?

It finally happened! After floods of email and junk mail from web hosts looking for my business (thanks for selling my name NetworkSolutions), today I finally got a telemarketing call from a web host. Has this happened to anyone else? I've never heard anyone else mention getting spam phone calls from hosts.

Oh, and Deb, don't have any worries. It's not from a company good enough offering packages good enough to get anyone to even consider leaving FQ. It just seemed a little strange.

I get them all of the time!!!

I very much enjoy saying to the kind telemarketer "Hmm please visit my web site and let me know if you think it would be ok on your server ... http://www.FutureQuest.net" They usually respond with "umm Ahem... you own this company?" I say, "Yep, sure do" ... things get silly from there.

Or even better ask them what their policies are on Spam and or unsolicited advertising, and after they say they do not allow it then wipe the grin of your face and ask them what they think it is that they are doing!

Ooh, that brings back painful memories of my biggest missed opportunity...[nbsp][nbsp]US West called me asking if I was interested in subscribing to their service to block unsolicited phone calls.[nbsp][nbsp]I think I was in the middle of dinner and quickly said "no thank you" and hung up.[nbsp][nbsp]Then it hit me like a stuffed whiffle ball bat...[nbsp][nbsp]:(

Well, since misery loves company I don't feel as bad now. However, I think you're missing an ideal opportunity here Deb. The next time you get one of those calls, just jump on whatever "unlimited everything" resellers packages they've got for $39.99 You can drive the competition out of busines one by one.
